Chital Deer (Axis axis), also called Spotted Deer, lives in grasslands and forests in
India and Sri Lanka in large herds of up to 100 or
more. It stands up to 100 cm at the shoulder. Its spotted coat is reddish brown above and white below. The male chital has branching, usually three-tined antlers up to 100
cm long. |
