Red-necked Phalarope (Phalaropus lobatus) is a scarce winter vagrant in Haryana. This bird is found in the wetlands. Order: CICONIIFORMES Family: Tringinae Length: 6 inches Identification: Small, long-legged shorebird, often swims, spinning about and picking at the water. Thin, straight, black bill and black legs, dark-centered rump. Thin white stripe in wing. Gray crown and upperparts; black eye patch, white under-parts. |
